Year 3 and 5 have had a lovely day out along the Stroudwater Canal. Despite the drizzle they caught the train from Stroud to Stonehouse, and then walked back along the Stroudwater Canal. They were lucky enough to see a variety of wildlife including coots, a heron and lots of ducklings.
This year we raised a whopping £311 for Sport Relief. We all dressed in sports attire and set of for our mile run up, down and around the school field. Parents and Gastrells Sports leaders were very supportive as the whole school completed the mile. Later in the day the children took on this teachers in a fulfilled Staff Vs Children netball match. After school, we were able to raise more money by selling fruit pots and fruit smoothies to spectators for the Staff Vs Parents netball match. It was a fantastic and fulfilled day. A huge thank you to everyone for taking part and in such good spirits.
Have a look at the bits we managed to catch on camera. Enjoy!
