This week in P.E Eagles have been trying out the Paralympic sport ‘Goalball’, a team sport designed for visually impaired athletes which uses a ball with a rattle inside. The children played games blindfolded to get used to having to rely on other their other senses before having the chance to pass the ball to each other, and shoot at goal.
Here is what some of the children thought of the experience…
‘It is great that you can be blind but still play sport’
‘It was tricky but I enjoyed it’
‘We had to use our sense of touch and hearing because we couldn’t see’
‘Anyone can enjoying playing games even if you have a disability’
