Following on from street surfing taster sessions some of the Key Stage Two children are participating in Street Surfing Club before school on a Thursday mornings – they have really improved their skills and even surprised some of their own parents!!
Gastrells football team have mixed success
This afternoon Gastrells arrived to thunderous conditions at Park Juniors Primary School and with 3 games to fit in the matches started promptly. Gastrells made a superb start with Callum and Joe linking up well in attack and after 10 minutes they scored after Joe turned in a rebounded effort from Callum’s shot. After going ahead Gastrells defended well with Max making many fantastic saves, finally the final whistle went with Gastrells winning 1-0.
In their second game Gastrells came up against a strong Woodchester side and although Lucas, Jai and Sam all defended well they were unable to prevent a 4-0 defeat. Gastrells soon bounced back and came out strong for their final game of the afternoon with Joe chasing down the opposition at every opportunity and Niall making some excellent passes. Unfortunately the resilient Gastrells defence was broken and The Rosary ran out 2-0 winners, all of the boys played well and should be pleased, a final well done to Joe Freedman who was the coaches man of the match.
A Spanish Experience
They have also been creating clay Flamenco dancers with Julie Fowler.
Thank you to all our visitors and helpers we have had in this week –Â the children have had a wonderful time.
Have Eagles found the next Andy Murray or Heather Watson?
Mad Mexico
Goshawks have had a fabulous set of learning experiences all about Mexico – they have cooked, sewn and created dance pieces.
Vikings invade Gastrells!!!
Eagles with the help of Julie Fowler have created fantastic clay Swedish Vikings. However after the children left many of the Vikings took to exploring the school… some were found in the office, 1 helped himself to a tea in the staff room, several played on a computer in the ICT suite and a brave 3 made their way to Mrs Merriman’s office.
